La 911 GT3 R Hybrid de Porsche

Le constructeur va dévoiler sa nouvelle voiture hybride destinée à la compétition au Salon de Genève qui aura lieu du 4 au 14 mars. Elle sera équipée de pneumatiques Michelin "verts".

Porsche s’apprête à ouvrir un nouveau chapitre de son album compétition avec une version hybride de la célèbre 911. La 911 GT3 R Hybrid va évoluer sur les courses d’Endurance, à commencer par les 24 Heures du Nürburgring le 15 mai prochain où elle sera équipée de pneumatiques Michelin répondant aux nouvelles normes environnementales.

Parmi les innovations technologiques, un générateur électrique remplace la traditionnelle batterie et alimente des moteurs électriques. Celui-ci se charge lorsque le pilote appuie sur la pédale de frein et permet d’apporter un supplément de puissance au Flat-six de 480 chevaux à l’accélération ou lors des dépassements pendant environ 6 secondes. Ce système permet également de réduire la consommation et donc d’augmenter l’efficacité énergétique, ce que Michelin récompense en Endurance avec le MICHELIN GREEN X Challenge. Côté compétition, Porsche compte actuellement plus de 20 000 victoires en 45 ans de présence en sport automobile.

The automaker will unveil its new hybrid car for competition at the Geneva Motor Show which runs from March 4 to 14. It will be equipped with "green" Michelin tyres.

Porsche is about to open a fresh chapter in its racing history with a new hybrid version of the celebrated 911. The new Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid will contest a programme of endurance races, beginning with the Nürburgring 24 Hours on May 15 where it will compete on Michelin tyres that comply with the latest environmental standards.

The technological innovations featured on the car include an electric generator which replaces the conventional battery to provide energy to the electric motors. The batteries charge each time the driver hits the brakes, making a little extra power available the next time the 480-horsepower flat-six needs to accelerate, or for a period of six seconds when the driver wants to overtake another competitor, for example. The system also returns lower fuel consumption and enhanced energy efficiency, something which Michelin seeks to reward in the world of endurance racing through the MICHELIN GREEN X Challenge. Side competition, Porsche has a record of more than 20,000 wins to its name in the course of its 45 years in motorsport.
