Antoine Montant remporte la compétition mondiale de référence de cette jeune discipline qui combine le ski en poudreuse et le pilotage d'une voile rapide.

L’athlète monte sur la première marche du podium du Speed Flying Pro Les Arcs pour la troisième année consécutive. Derrière lui, François Bon, l'un des pionniers de la discipline, qui jouait à domicile. Troisième au classement, Yoan Castagnoli, qui a marqué par son inventivité, sa fougue et son engagement.

La compétition s'est jouée en deux manches freeride sur les flancs de l'Aiguille Rouge, dans la face des Arandelières, sur le domaine des Arcs. Les speedflyers étaient libres de choisir leur itinéraire, en skiant dans la neige et en volant. Leur descente a été notée par un jury sur trois critères : la technique, le style et la ligne. « Yo (Castagnoli) et Vince (Reffet) sont agités, ils sautent de partout ! Moi, je privilégie le ski, être solide sur mes appuis, trouver des passages techniques, avec du changement de rythme : rester calme dans les parties délicates et lâcher les chevaux quand il y a de la place », a expliqué Antoine Montant.

Antoine Montant wins the reference worldwide competition of this emerging discipline that combines skiing and piloting quickly a wing.

The athlete climbs on top of the podium of Speed Flying Pro Les Arcs for the third consecutive year. Behind him, François Bon, one of the innovators of the discipline, who played at home. Third in the standings, Yoan Castagnoli, who scored with his or his inventiveness, his enthusiasm and his involvement.

The competition was divided into two freeride sets, which were fought on the flanks of the Aiguille Rouge situated on the side of the Arandelières which is The Arcs territory. The speed flyers were free to choose their itinerary, by skiing on the snow and flying. Descent was graded on three criterias by a jury : the technique, the style and the course chosen. « Yo (Castagnoli) and Vince (Reffet) are agitated, they are jumping every where! I privilege skiing, to have strong supports, finding technical paths with changing rhythms: staying calm during the delicate parts and letting my hair down when I can », said Antoine Montant.
