La France accueille le premier Championnat du Monde U17 féminin du 16 au 25 juillet 2010. L’événement fait des efforts dans le domaine du développement durable.
Limitation des déplacements en voiture, tri des déchets, la Fédération Française de Basketball a voulu organiser une compétition écologique. Pendant dix jours, la région Midi-Pyrénées reçoit le Mondial U17 féminin sur deux sites à Toulouse et à Rodez. Douze équipe des cinq continents participent au tournoi.

Limit car travel, waste sorting, the French Federation of Basketball has organized a competition ecological wanted. For ten days, the Midi-Pyrenees hosts the World Women's U17 at two sites in Toulouse and Rodez. Twelve team around the world participate in the tournament.
